Media briefing on economic, social, political issues faced by women in the rural villages in Batticoloa - 25th March 2021

 

Marumalarchchi Women Federation of Batticoloa district convened a media briefing on economic, social, political issues faced by women in the rural villages in Batticoloa today (19 February). Women leaders expressed how they are suffering due to loss of bread winner of the family, difficulties of children as they had to leave the schools, their health issues. Lavena Hasanthi, the women’s coordinator of NAFSO expressed her views how NAFSO attend to address those issues faced by women, address the poverty issues through women advocacy document compiled by National fisher women federation.

“We invite all of you to join with us to collect signatures, our aim is 10,000 which will be submitted to women’s minister and the Chairperson of women Caucus of the Parliament on 25th March.”
